Much to the dismay of thousands of people across the United States, George Zimmerman was released on $150,000 bail. The event took place in the middle of the night, as to avoid any unnecessary confrontations with those who feel that Zimmerman should spend the rest of his life rotting behind bars. He will be tried for second degree murder in the fatal shooting of teenager Trayvon Martin later this year.

Not surprisingly, this news did not settle well with many people.

Now that he’s out of jail, authorities have to contend with yet another serious issue: Whether or not any of the threats made on Twitter will amount to anything substantial. People say all sorts of horrendous things on the social networking site, though, in this case, I’d say that many of the posters would probably trying to harm Zimmerman if given half the chance. And while I believe that lots of individuals just enjoy blowing off steam from the safety of their own homes, the threats made against the man are, in my opinion, downright frightening.
