Google is used to getting criticism. No question about that. There has so far been plenty about the company’s latest attempt at social media: Google+. Of course it’s not even fully launched yet.
There is also some good feedback about it. A lot of those fortunate enough to get invites actually do like it. You’ve probably seen some of the articles by now.
Google faces many challenges in making this thing a hit, so the company is no doubt glad to see some words of encouragement from users. Here are some of the other more positive reactions we’ve seen from people on Twitter:
Google Plus so far = Google + Buzz + +1 + Facebook + Gmail + Google Contacts + Wave + Picasa + Orkut + Profiles + RSS + Skype. Mind blown.
Google+ observation/quote I’ve read: “The reality is users won’t have the option of not using Google+.” http://t.co/lVlO4i9
Most important@beastoftraal: I don’t know if Google+ is a Twitter-killer or Facebook-killer. But it sure is a productivity-killer.
RTGoogle+, you have kind of unlimited space. … http://bit.ly/jKX1FY
PicasaWeb Just Got Unlimited Space For Free: If you’re signed up forGoogle+ as a social network of people I actually WANT to read status updates about. Much like Twitter, actually.
I’d love to useLol Facebook-Founder Mark Zuckerberg joined google+ …. says it all
Google+ Hangouts: “It’s like a group Chatroulette without nudity and with about 100 extra I.Q. points.” http://goo.gl/3aurd (via @wired)
google plus is at capacity but i’m still getting 50 invites per minute. excellent roll-out!
Google+: In Short: Andy Hertzfeld just turned facebook into MySpace
There’s a lot to take in with the launch of Google+. You can go to the product’s landing page and read through that to gather that much. It’s going to be very interesting to see if people are up for using it. The classic invitation-only strategy worked pretty well for cultivating buzz around Gmail years ago. Can Google repeat that success with Google+?
