The Curiosity Mars Rover is a pretty big deal. It may actually be able to finally answer the age old question – was there ever life on Mars? The rover itself may not be too concerned with that right now, however, as it has bigger problems, like not being able to watch AMC.
In a move that cements the Curiosity’s popularity in Internet culture, some genius has already created a parody account for the rover. It’s called “SarcasticMarsRover” and it’s far better than it sounds. Sarcasm is hard to make funny, but the Twitter account in question nails it with every Tweet. Check out some of the best ones below:
Great… 100,000,000 miles and I’m stuck in a damn crater. Awesome.
@surfaceofmars@marscuriosity@xeni Yeah nice planet you got here… super stoked to be stranded here for the rest of my life.
Oh sure, I can’t think of anything I’d rather be doing than driving around a wasteland looking at dirt for the rest of my life.
I presume I’ll get a medal for all this right? …oh, I don’t because I’m a machine. That’s cool. I’ll just go f–k myself.
I hope I discover water on this planet… so I can drown myself in it. #fml
Buzz Aldrin got a parade, all I get is Wesley Crusher retweeting my instagrams. Whatever. @wilw
@wilw Oh, sorry… Did I forget to walk on your precious moon while I was hurtling through space like a fricken comet of awesome? My bad.
2.5 Billion dollars, and I can’t even watch AMC out here?! That’s fine. I can catch up on Breaking Bad when I get back. Oh wait…
I’m really glad all you fricken hipsters took a vague interest in science for 8 hours. Thanks for that.
Guess who’s got no thumbs, nuclear power and is now the Mayor of Mars on foursquare? #thisrover
Got a rock in my tread… fantastic. I already hate this place. John Carter can have it.
The last tweet was made about three hours ago, but here’s hoping it gets regularly updated. The Curiosity is already one of the greatest accomplishments in human history, so it only makes sense for it to have one of the greatest Twitter accounts in human history. Maybe SarcasticMarsRover can start chatting it up with The Universe.
