Mass Effect 3 just launched at midnight on Tuesday, and gans packed local retailers to get their hands on one of the first copies. Some retailers even held midnight release parties. But if you don’t mind waiting a few days to begin the adventure, you can already get it online for a pretty significant discount.
Online retailer Newegg has already slashed the price of the game by $10. As long as you are a subscriber to their email newsletter, you can enter the promo code “EMCNGND89” at checkout and get your discount. It will knock the price down from $59.99 to $49.99 (plus shipping is free).
The deal is available for Mass Effect 3 on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. It will run until March 12th or unti they run out.
As far as the game critics are concerned, Mass Effect 3 delivers. With 30 reviews in, Metacritic gives it a 94, or universal acclaim. Official Xbox magazine calls it “Brave, thrilling, and incredibly emotional” and a “sci-fi masterpiece.” GameSpot says that it’s a “remarkably satisfying conclusion” to the trilogy that is “a poignant and memorable role-playing action game in its own right.”
Let’s see what the Twitterverse is saying about it:
