Twitter has beefed up their malware defenses by acquiring online security firm Dasient, a post from Dasient’s official blog announced yesterday. Effective immediately, Dasient said they will be taking their talents to the Twitterscape’s revenue engineering team.

By joining Twitter, Dasient will be able to apply its technology and team to the world’s largest real-time information network. As part of this merger, Dasient is winding down its business and is no longer able to accept new customers.
