It’s hard to believe it’s already been a week since Whitney Houston was found dead, but it has, and today is her funeral, which is being streamed live online by the AP. Unfortunately, they haven’t made the player embeddable, but we will be providing live updates from the Twitterverse throughout the ceremony.

A private ceremony was reportedly held on Friday, but today’s stream gives the public, including her enormous fan base an opportunity to pay their last respects before she’s laid to rest.

It also highlights the always connected world we’re living in today, where even funerals are being broadcast over the web.

Interestingly enough, as we reported earlier this month, at least one crematorium is even offering such services to customers.

It’s clear that there is still a great deal of interest in Whitney Houston’s death from the general public, as it’s currently dominating Google Trends.

The AP may be streaming the event, but let’s not forget that (despite all the fake death rumors), the news of Whitney’s death broke on Twitter.
