Rovio has a gem on their hands. What originally started as a $0.99 app in the Apple App Store is spawning sequels, a movie, and now a theme park. Rovio and Finland’s Särkänniemi Adventure Park is designing an “Angry Birds Land” theme park based on the popular downloadable game.

We wanted to create a unique themed area and associate it with a strong and well-known brand,” says Miikka Seppälä, CEO of the park. “The Angry Birds characters were born in Finland but known worldwide by people of all ages. This is a perfect fit for our Adventure Park. Our goal is to motivate the fans, both adults and children, to exercise and enjoy the outdoors.”

As of this time, not much more is known about this impending deal but it is believed that more information will be released in April.

Angry Birds was released in 2009 by Finnish developer Rovio. The games have been released on the Iphone, Android, PS3, xbox 360, PC, Mac, and Facebook. As of this date the games and their subsequent sequels have been downloaded over 500 million times.
