This past weekend, a series of tornadoes swept through Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia. While some cities in these states only received severe thunderstorms and rain, some other parts of these states encountered heavy tornadoes that brought devastation and heartbreak. The cities heavily affected by these tornadoes were Henryville, Indiana, and small cities in Eastern Kentucky, such as: West Liberty, Salyersville, and surrounding towns.
During the tornado’s wrath in New Pekin, Indiana, a small toddler named Angel Babcock was whisked away in the tornado’s heavy winds. With all of the destruction that happened in New Pekin, and the events that Angel experienced, Angel Babcock survived the travel of the tornado’s heavy winds; however, her parents and two siblings did not survive this tragedy (source: CNN). Angel was then transported to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, where she was placed in critical condition.
As of today (Sunday, March 4th, 2012), Angel Babcock died after being taken off life support, but the resilience of this toddler’s fight for survival through this horrific event lives on. The Twitter community (all around the country) has been active in saying their goodbyes to Angel, and I have provided a few heartwarming tweets pertaining to Angel’s fight for survival below.
Sad to report that Angel Babcock, the toddler who survived the tornado which killed her family in Indiana, has also now died.
Rest in Peace Angel Babcock
So sad little Angel Babcock passed away. She is in Heaven with Jesus now.
Thoughts and prayers for Angel Babcock, who died at a Louisville hosp after being found in a field near a tornado-flattened Indiana home.
On behalf of the staff of WebProNews, I send my condolences to the Babcock family and everyone affected by this weekend’s devastating severe weather.
