Hundreds of lucky fans who won tickets to Monday’s world premiere of “The Hunger Games” gushed about the film after the screening, saying it stayed true to the book while giving it a little extra emotion.
I’m getting in line behind my colleagues to say that The Hunger Games is terrific- thoughtful, thrilling, well-acted & emotionally engaging.
if you’re a HUNGER GAMES fan, happy to report the film is great and you’re going to be very happy with Gary Ross’ film.
@lawrencejenn was TERRIFIC. & who doesn’t love The Tucc? (unofficial Stanley Tucci nickname)
I gotta say, the Hunger Games was really fun!The film, which is based on the Suzanne Collins book of the same name, was directed by Gary Ross, who is receiving early praise for his work. Anticipation for the movie has been built up so much that box-office numbers are expected to rival or even surpass those of the Twilight saga to bring in around $100 million on opening weekend.
Of course, the comparisons don’t just end at the box office. Some critics are hailing the movie adaptation of “The Hunger Games” as more of a success than both the Twilight and Harry Potter films, much to the irritation of hardcore fans of those series’.
The film, which centers on a future where the government selects teenagers to fight to the death in a series of televised games, premieres everywhere on March 23rd.
