Last night on “Conan” a special guest popped in to lay down some tasty flute jams, and make a minor announcement. Who was the guest you ask? It was none other than the mustachioed pride of San Diego himself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy.
Mr. Burgundy took the stage and said: “I want to announce this everyone here in the Americas. To our friends in Spain, Turkey, and the UK (including England) that as of 0900 Mountain time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman. It is official, there will be a sequel to Anchorman“. You can see the full video of the announcement below:
For those of you questioning if this is real, or just a comedic stunt by Will Ferrell should take a look at the tweet below from Adam McKay, the director of the film:
A few people questioning if Anchorman 2 is 100% for sure happening. Let me assure and assuage: it is. We’re writing now and we shoot in Feb
Few details are available at this time, but EW did get in touch with Paramount and found out that Steve Carell and Paul Rudd are definitely on board for the sequel. Deadline is also reporting that David Koechner is also on board to reprise his role of Champ. It remains to be seen the smelly smelly pirate whore, Christina Applegate, will return for the sequel.
Anchorman 2 is slated to hit theaters sometime in 2013.
