In the world of college basketball, fans have spent years trying to come up with the perfect distraction – the most effective way to throw a shooter from the opposing team off just a little bit. Maybe he’ll miss that crucial free throw, or make a split-second poor decision and turn it over. Fans tried noise, waving their arms wildly, posters, and swinging any number of objects to and fro.

In the past couple of years, fans started blowing up the faces of famous people, putting them on a big sign, and holding them up in the crowd. Some fans used faces of the players or maybe the coaches. You could see a random Dick Vitale face or random celebrity sprinkled in here and there.

Jack Blankenship took it to the next level and blew up an image of his own face. After he was spotted at a few Alabama Crimson Tide basketball games, the kid went viral. Sports blogs, reddit, Jimmy Fallon – he’s been everywhere. You probably know him better as the “Alabama Face Guy,” due to his unusual and interesting face.

If you don’t know what I mean, check this out:

But now, taking over the internet isn’t enough for Blankenship. He wants to rule his college.

You see, a power vacuum opened up when University of Alabama President Robert Witt was named chancellor of The University of Alabama System (a three college system that includes University of Alabama, The University of Alabama Birmingham, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville). UA’s VP and Provost Judy Bonner then stepped in on an interim basis.

The Face Guy sees his opportunity and is jumping on it. Check out his campaign parody video for President of UA:

It looks like he thinks he’s got the job in the bag:

Proud to confirm that I’ll be the next Pres. of the University of Alabama. Heres my campaign video, thanks @drothjr : http://t.co/pKlX0RNm(image) 4 hours ago via Twitter for iPhone ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto
