Although the latest trailer for writer Sergio G. Sanchez and director Juan Antonio Bayona’s English-language debut “The Impossible” is dubbed in Spanish, it doesn’t detract from its impact one bit. The film, which takes place during the tsunami that laid waste to Thailand back in 2004, follows a family as they attempt to survive one of the worst natural disasters in country’s history. The film opens in Spain on October 12th, though an American release date has yet to be set as of this writing. Here’s hoping someone gets off their bloated behind and gets this thing into cinemas as soon as possible. Personally, I think the picture looks remarkable.

It would have been nice to receive the trailer in English, but it kind of makes sense that one hasn’t popped up yet considering we don’t have a proper release date to speak of. No matter. The trailer is impressive with or without the original language track. Have a look.
