Google Drive, Google’s cloud storage service, is inevitable, but its launch is now seemingly imminent, if the various references to the service that keep popping up are any indication. The symbol for Google Drive was seen on a Google developer’s Android phone during a Google+ Hangout last week. Today, a reference to Drive can be found on a Google support page – a clear indication that Drive will soon be launched.
The reference comes on the support page detailing a method of transferring ownership permissions on Google Docs documents. On the page is a tip for transferring large documents. The tip: if you want to see how much room a user has on their Google Drive, click the upload button. Take a look at the tip for yourself:
Meanwhile, Reuters has an unnamed source “familiar with the matter” who says Google Drive might launch as early as today.
