Tareq Salahi is known for a lot of things; crashing the White House, for instance, with his wife Michaele. The two were also featured on one season of “The Real Housewives Of D.C.”, no doubt because of the state dinner debacle and the headlines it grabbed; the couple were rumored to be attention seekers until Michaele left him for Journey guitarist Neal Schon last year.
So it’s a strange turn of events that Salahi is now running for governor of Virginia. Salahi recently said:
“I am troubled to see how our current political figureheads continue to waste tax payer dollars! I’m a big believer in limited government, keeping taxes, regulation and litigation low, and if I do win, everyone is invited to crash the inauguration!”
In light of Salahi’s messy divorce amid stories of infidelity and his infamous past–a lot of which has been caught on camera–it’s strange to some that he would run for any type of political office.
