Demand Media released version 5.1 of its Pluck social media platform last Thursday, which features native Pinterest integration, and now a blog post from Pluck itself expands upon the “Pin It” button that was built into the platform’s photo and video widgets.
Plucks’s Don Roedner points out the social proofing attributes of Pinterest, mentioning trustworthiness and credibility when it comes to the platform’s built-in marketing quality, and describes Pinboards as being “highly visual, first of all, which appeals to the primacy of our sense of sight.” This native brand marketing potential had likewise naturally fostered the Pluck integration, for users to get the most out of their business endeavors surrounding the site.
Pluck had already allowed content syndication on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for its clients, and now Pinterest has been added to Pluck galleries, where the “Pin It” button can be seen. The new button can be applied to both public and personal galleries, making it the first community platform that links to Pinterest. The button can be seen at the lower left of the image from the Phoenix Suns site:
Roedner states, “With Pinterest integration built into our platform, Pluck community members can expose Pinterest visitors to great content, and make it easy for those visitors to discover the brands that inspired that content.”
In related news, Demand Media’s stocks have just risen 20%, on reports from AllThingsD that its merger to go private with Thomas H. Lee and Partners has dissolved.
