Patriots wide receiver Chad Ochocinco solved a robbery earlier today with the help of social network Twitter. His wallet was stolen from his Escalade in the middle of the night. The thief busted out the window to get to the money.
Ochocinco tweeted around 10 o’clock that someone had broken into his Escalade rental. He wasn’t as concerned about his credit cards and his ID as much as he was a Starbucks gold card that still had some money left on it.
“Credit cards can be cancelled, I’m not trippin’. What I’m pissed about is these motherf**ckers took my Starbucks card. Not just any Starbucks card, I earned the Gold card. Do you know many coffees i had to drink and lemon loafs I had to purchase to get to that gold card.”
#Gold starbucks cards…
In a strange twist, someone actually tweeted back to Ochocinco that they had found his wallet.
@jennacote: @ochocinco It was found in a parking lot ….
Unfortunately the Starbucks card was not in it.
Chad was going to have his girlfriend Evelyn Lozada fly in to help him out. His waitress at IHOP this morning even offered to give him cash to get him though until he got replacement credit cards.
@Kim43071: come back to IHOP Ive got cash to cover you till Thursday
But the power of social media came to the rescue.
And in the end, Starbucks even offered to replace his card, so now all is right with the world.
@Starbucks: @ochocinco what a bummer! We gotcha your back… and we’ll send ya a new card 😉
Unless he starts getting made fun of over the incident…
@sealer9: @ochocinco how do you not have money your an NFL player
