Harvard apologizes to everyone who was offended by Ted Kaczynski’s entry in the university’s alumni directory. According to Boston.com, a spokesperson for Harvard said that Ted Kaczynski, better know to the world at-large as the Unabomber, submitted the entry for the directory himself. However, nobody seemed to notice that his submission contained references to his crimes and subsequent convictions.

Harvard’s alumni association stated that all former students were asked to submit entries for a report that was to be distributed to those attending reunion activities during commencement week. What the association and its employees didn’t expect, of course, was for the Unabomber to list his occupation as “prisoner”, his convictions as his awards, and his home address as his prison cell number.

“While all members of the class who submit entries are included, we regret publishing Kaczynski’s references to his convictions and apologize for any distress that it may have caused others,” the association said in a statement on Wednesday.

Kaczynski was convicted of murdering three people and injuring 23 others in 1998. According to his alumni association update, he currently resides at “No. 04475-046, US Penitentiary—Max, P.O. Box 8500, Florence, CO 8126-8500.”
