Cheyenne Woods, niece of troubled golf great Tiger Woods, is on her way to the U.S. Women’s Open. Woods, who played golf at Wake Forest University for four years, qualified to participate in the golf tournament at Carolina Trace Country Club on Thursday. Cheyenne, of course, is no stranger to golf-related accomplishments; in 2011, she won the 2011 ACC Championship while playing for her college.
According to the Bloomberg, Woods finished the two-day qualifier in Sanford, North Carolina with 2-over-par 146. However, before she embarks on that particular quest, Cheyenne will make an appearance at next week’s LPGA Championship, which also serves as her professional debut. In 2009, Cheyenne received a sponsor’s exemption to play in the Wegmans LPGA, a tournament she reportedly missed the cut by just a handful of shots.
Cheyenne Woods is the daughter of Earl Woods Jr., Tiger Woods’ half brother. You can find a small collection of Twitter reactions to the news by investigating the posts lurking directly beneath the embedded video.
