The Spice Girls may have gone their separate ways early in the last decade, but that doesn’t mean they don’t still have fans who would love to hear “Wannabe” a few more times. Now, it looks like the girls who made Union Jack dresses a fashion trend are going to get their very own stage production, courtesy of the funny lady who brought us “Absolutely Fabulous”.

“Viva Forever”, which debuts this November at London’s Piccadilly Theater, focuses on four friends who must deal with the life-altering changes that come with entering a TV talent show. The songs that the Spice Girls made famous are featured in the show, which is being produced by Judy Craymer, the genius behind the ABBA musical “Mama Mia!” The girls reunited at the hotel which served as the backdrop for the “Wannabe” video at a recent launch party for the show, and are thrilled with the production.

“It’s better than we could ever have imagined,” said Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm.

Jennifer Saunders has a long-running friendship with Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton, who appeared on “Absolutely Fabulous” (if you don’t know what that is, look it up. You’ll thank me later) and is excited to bring a whole new generation to the concept of “girl power”.
