“The Dark Knight Rises” featurette is Warner Bros. last-ditch attempt to get you pumped about the final installment of director Christopher Nolan’s epic Batman trilogy. It’s 13 minutes of in-depth, behind-the-scenes bliss, designed to appeal directly to the overwhelmingly enthusiastic fanboy/girl living beneath your skin. Of course, if behind-the-scenes featurettes aren’t your thing, chances are this isn’t going to sway those who have yet to be seduced by the bat.
If, for some bizarre reason, you’re unfamiliar with this upcoming summer blockbuster, have a peek at this synopsis. It should, in theory, clear some things up:
Following the death of District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman assumes responsibility for Dent’s crimes to protect Dent’s reputation and is subsequently hunted by the Gotham City Police Department. Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, Batman returns to Gotham, where he encounters the mysterious Selina Kyle and the villainous Bane, and must confront the latter’s plans to destroy the city.
“The Dark Knight Rises”, which stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Juno Temple, opens in North American theaters on July 20th.
