Fred Willard, beloved character actor who’s been in just about everything, was arrested on Wednesday night at Hollywood’s Tiki Theater, where he was taking in a porn flick with his penis out and in his hand (allegedly). While Willard was arrested for lewd behavior, he claims he was doing nothing illegal in the theater and is pursuing legal action. However, his employer, PBS, doesn’t care what went on inside the Tiki and has fired him anyway.
The show is “Market Warriors”, a spinoff of the network’s hugely successful “Antiques Roadshow”, and PBS officials sent around an email to their affiliates asking that they not air any completed episodes and advising that they would be adding new narration to the ones in progress.
“Given the unfortunate news reported today, effective immediately, Fred Willard no longer will be involved with the Market Warriors series,” a rep for the network announced.
Willard still has his ABC job as host of the show “Trust Us With Your Life”, however.
