“Roseanne” reunion puts comedienne in same room with her television family…as well as her old flame.

Roseanne was roasted recently on Comedy Central, and although the show won’t air until August 12th, fans are ecstatic that their favorite TV mom got to share the experience with some of the people she watched grow up. Although the entire cast couldn’t make it, Lecy Goranson (original Becky) and Michael Fishman (D.J.) were on hand to see the sparks fly onstage as Rosie took a verbal beating from several stars, including Seth Green, Katey Sagal, and Carrie Fisher.

But there was one roaster present that the actress wasn’t counting on: Tom Arnold.

The two met on the set of “Roseanne” and were married for four years, much of which can only be described as “rocky”. Since their divorce, the two have been pretty open about their mutual dislike for one another and have managed, for the most part, to steer clear of each other. Yet Tom seems honestly happy for his ex now, and praised her talents during the roast.

“I’m not here to tear Roseanne a new one, because I’ve seen the old one,” he joked before turning serious. “In 1985, Roseanne went on Johnny Carson, which was every comic’s dream back then. She killed, he laughed his ass off, he gave her a thumbs up and he invited her to sit on his couch. She got validation from the king which can never be taken away from her.”

I think if there’s one thing we can take away from this, it’s that America wants to see a real Roseanne reunion, featuring the complete remaining cast. Sadly, actor Glenn Quinn, who played Mark on the show, passed away in 2002.
