YouTube Makes Some Changes To Channel Pages

YouTube announced some tweaks to its channel pages. It has merged the Feed and Video tabs into a single “Browse Videos” tab.

“This new tab will house all Channel activity: uploads, playlists, likes, activity, and comments. Upon clicking the ‘Browse videos’ tab, by default your viewers will be taken to Uploads, but they can easily view other activity using the menu,” says a software engineer from YouTube’s channels team. For example, everything you used to see on the Feed tab can be viewed by clicking on ‘Activity.’”

In some cases, channel owners can change the presentation of the content. For example, you can change the sort order or interface type of the videos:

“Our testing showed that this change makes Channels easier to navigate,” the engineer adds.

YouTube also introduced a new iOS app this week in time for the upcoming release of the iPhone 5. More on that here.
