Earlier this year it was revealed that PlayStation 3 owners would get extra content for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed III. Today, Ubisoft and Sony have revealed just what sort of extra content they will be getting.
Over on the PlayStation blog, a short interview with Matt Turner, the game’s scriptwriter at Ubisoft Montreal, revealed that the content will consist of four missions and be called Assassin’s Creed III: Benedict Arnold. The story will begin when General George Washington requests Connor’s help in investigating a plot to overthrow West Point. Throughout the missions, Connor will work undercover for Major General Benedict Arnold and prevent the man from turning over West Point to the British.
Turner stated that this content would not be speculative history in the same way as the recently announced King Washington DLC. Instead, the events at West Point are “as precise as the history books would allow,” while still taking some liberties for the sake of gameplay. “We have some scenes that have the actual words spoken by key players in the events at West Point, according to the records from the court proceedings following what happened,” said Turner.
If nothing else, the Benedict Arnold gameplay looks a lot better than the dull-looking Mayan Ruins GameStop pre-order DLC.
