The holiday gaming season has already begun, but the release of Far Cry 3 still seems far off. The game’s delay to December meant that gamers will be playing Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops II well before they can get their hands on the sandbox gameplay of Far Cry 3.
In lieu of allowing players to play the game, Ubisoft has been creating dozens of trailers outlining every aspect of the game. The newer trailer series features some of the characters players will run into while exploring the island, including warlords and sexy tribal leaders.
Today’s trailer features Hoyt, a drug baron on the island. Of course, Hoyt has already been featured in the “Top of the Food Chain” trailer, so Ubisoft might be running out of characters to feature in their trailers.
From the beginning of the video below, when Hoyt forces captives to run across a mine field, it’s clear that he’s a bad guy. This is further emphasized by more murderous actions and the brutal “rules” he commands his men to obey.
Of course, the trailer quickly segues into the type of gameplay seen in other trailers, complete with the requisite explosions. Still, Far Cry 3 looks to be a lot of fun, and I’m sure gamers will have a great time exploring the island once they are through with all of the other blockbuster titles being released earlier this fall.
