For those immersed in Sony’s gaming ecosystem, the PlayStation Plus subscription service is quite nifty. Where an Xbox LIVE Gold membership is generally just a fee for the privilege of playing multiplayer on an Xbox 360, PlayStation Plus provides its subscibers with free games, demos, discounts, and access to betas on the PlayStation 3.

Today, Sony announced that PlayStation Plus will be coming to the PlayStation Vita on November 19. The service will be part of the Vita system software update to version 2.0. European Vita owners will get the update on November 21.

PlayStation Plus for Vita will come with an Instant Game Collection for the Vita. Next week, subscribers will be able to download Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Jet Set Radio HD, WipEout 2048, Gravity Rush, Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack!, and Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions. These games won’t affect the number of Instant Game Collection titles seen on the PlayStation 3 version of Plus.

Along with Plus, the Vita software will be getting some upgrades. Sony stated that there will be “enhancements” to the web browser, a new email app, and the ability to wirelessly transfer content between the Vita and a PC.
