Taran Noah Smith: DUI Conviction Gets Him Probation

Taran Noah Smith, the adorable youngest Taylor boy on the popular ’90s sitcom “Home Improvement”, is all grown up.

Smith received a conviction on DUI and drug possession after an arrest earlier this year, and was ordered to attend a DUI program as well as a 6-month drug program in addition to three years of probation.

The arrest came after L.A. police found Smith’s car parked in front of a fire hydrant and discovered him inside it, smelling suspiciously of weed. He has another court date in June.

Smith has been off of Hollywood’s radar for several years; having only done voiceover work once after “Home Improvement” ended, he’s been out of the spotlight. He famously sued his own parents in 1997, however, accusing them of taking the money he’d earned from acting. He also–somewhat controversially–f, taking vows with a woman 17 years older. He and Heidi Van Pelt divorced six years later, in 2007.
