EA and Insomniac Games today released the latest trailer for Fuse, a team-based sci-fi shooter set to launch sometime in March. The trailer is titled “Dalton Rules” and goes over one of the main character’s three tongue-in-cheek “rules” that he follows as an Overstrike agent.
In Fuse, players will play as one of four operatives that dive in over their heads when a mission to stop a rogue paramilitary force goes wrong. According to Insomniac, a “full-on global arms race over Fuse – a powerfull but volatile alien substance” begins, and the operative are caught right in the middle of it.
Judging from the trailer, the game is part Borderlands, part Gears of War, and wholly an Insomniac game. The studio is famous for the Ratchet & Clank and Resistance franchises, so expect Fuse to be filled with cinematic set pieces and creative weaponry. Also, the operative characters (or at least Dalton) appear to have fully realized personalities, which is a rare feature in the shooter genre.
