Besides the excellent Crimson Shroud, Nintendo’s eShop has been devoid of any decent games the past few weeks. This week’s update contains a few notable games, but the real treat is a blast from the past.

Headlining the 3DS eShop update this week is the rerelease of Wario Land 2. The second game in the Wario spin-off series introduces a number of whacky gimmicks that help Mario’s worse-half get through some sticky situations as he takes on Captain Syrup.

Other titles hitting the 3DS eShop this week include escapeVektor, 2 Fast 4 Gnomz, Mario Tennis Open, Pilotwings Resort, Pokemon Rumble Blast, 3G Game Collection, BIT.TRIP SAGA, PIX3D, Riding Stables 3D, Anonymous Notes Chapter 3 – From The Abyss, Cake Ninja: XMAS and Castle Conqueror – Heroes 2.

Continuing its support for New Super Mario Bros. 2, Nintendo is also releasing two new DLC Coin Rush course packs. The “Mystery Adventures Pack” and “Impossible Pack” are available from the in-game shop.

Unfortunately, all is mostly quiet on the Wii U front this week. The only additions are Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune which are shovelware at best and THQ misappropriating resources at worst. Don’t feel down though as the Rayman Legends demo is still available on the eShop. If you haven’t had the chance to check it out, I highly recommend it.
