18-year-old rapper Lil Snupe (real name Addarren Ross) was shot and killed in Winnfield, Louisiana earlier this month. The young rapper’s death shook the small Louisiana community where he lived, and hundreds attended a memorial service for the teen this weekend.

According to a Shreveport Times report, hundreds of people attended a memorial service for Snupe on Saturday afternoon at the Jonesboro-Hodge High School in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Attendees reportedly arrived as early as three hours before the service, and several speakers addressed the crowd to eulogize Snupe.

Police were called to the Maplewood Apartments in Winnfield on June 20 for reports of gunshots. When they arrived Snupe was found with two bullet wounds to his chest. First responders tried to stabilize the teen, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect in the shooting, 36-year-old Tony Holden, turned himself in to Winnfield police on June 26. He has been charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and first-degree murder.
