Jennifer Garner and hubs Ben Affleck paid a visit to Charleston, West Virginia this past weekend with two things on their agenda: baptize baby Samuel and celebrate their eighth anniversary.
The couple reportedly kept things low-key as they walked around town–which is where Jen is from–and had dinner at a local pizza parlor, Pies & Pints. The restaurant’s owner, Bob Lindeman, says the family almost always comes in to eat when they’re in town.
“Ben and Jen like to come in when they’re in town,” he said. “They’re just really solid people. They seemed like they were having a great time.”
Samuel’s baptism took place at Christ United Methodist Church, where Jennifer’s family has gone for years. The 16-month old is the youngest of the brood; the couple are also parents to 7-year old Violet and 4-year old Seraphina.
Affleck had to clarify some remarks he made during his Oscar acceptance speech earlier this year after he won for “Argo” and referred to their marriage as “work”.
“Some uncharitable souls on the Internet took that to mean our marriage is some kind of manual labor,” Affleck said. “That’s not it. You define what’s important to you by what you dedicate your time to.”
