In May, Netflix gave the world a fourth season of Arrested Development, and all was good. The only problem was that it wasn’t enough and fans demanded more. Netflix couldn’t make any promises, but it has continually said that it would like to do more. Now it appears that the company is getting serious about doing a fifth season of Arrested Development.

Bloomberg reports Brian Grazer, co-chairman of Imagine Entertainment, has said that Netflix is in talks with his company to produce a fifth season of Arrested Development. He said that Netflix is “very interested” in another season. It’s the best indication that we’ve heard thus far that Netflix is actively going after a new season of the television series.

Out of all the original series that Netflix has produced thus far, Arrested Development is the only one not confirmed to be getting a new season. More original efforts from Netflix, like House of Cards and Hemlock Grove, are getting new seasons. It’s newest series – Orange is the New Black – was even confirmed to be getting a new season before the first season aired.

Unlike the above series, however, Arrested Development has a few issues it has to wade through before a new season can be made. The folks at Imagine Entertainment have to sign on, and they have to figure out a way to work around the incredibly busy schedules of the show’s stars Still, they somehow beat the odds with the creation of season four, and they can beat the odds again.

Until then, Netflix will be doing all it can to make sure Arrested Development remains in the subconscious of Americans everywhere. There’s already a FakeBlock app alongside a ringtone of Mark Cherry’s fabulous song ‘Get Away.’ The show’s creators have also revealed that series composer David Schwartz is putting together a soundtrack of all the music from all four seasons of the series.

With this much Arrested Development love, it would be a shame if we didn’t get a new season, or at least the oft-rumored movie.
