Rep. Steve Cohen has had a rough week. It was only three years ago that he found out he had a daughter named Victoria Brink, but CNN reports that DNA tests this week show that she was in fact not his biological daughter.
Earlier this year, Cohen was seen tweeting to a 23-year-old woman that nobody knew the identity of. He soon came out and said that the young woman was his daughter. The congressman knew about her since 2010, however, when he claims that Brink’s mother – Cynthia White Sinatra – told him as much. He backed up the her claims when he said that Brink was born around the same time as his being involved with her mother.
What makes this even more bizarre is that Brink already had a father – John Brink. He had raised her as a child, but was told that he wasn’t the father when Cohen came out saying that he was the father. Could Brick actually be the father now that Cohen has been ruled out? Nobody is saying anything, but Brick told Victoria earlier this year that he still thought of her as his daughter.
As for Cohen, he says that he still loves Brink and that he hopes he can continue to be a part of her life. He also addressed the situation this morning via Twitter:
2 those who have been understanding/supportive thru this drama(NOT scandal) thank you!difficult to endure, and with press-worse!#Memphis rest

It’s going to be interesting to see where things go from here though. According to Cohen, Sinatra told her daughter that he was her real father in 2009. People are going to have a lot of explaining to do, and it might not end up pretty.
