Amanda Bynes has been on the path to a total meltdown in recent months, and it appears she may have finally come to the end of the road.
Bynes, a former child star who “retired’ a few years back before making one last film appearance in “Easy A”, made headlines for most of last year when she began displaying troublesome behavior in L.A. After arrests, hit-and-runs, public displays of nudity, and a Twitter account that gained thousands of followers as she chronicled her life, she moved to New York after announcing she wanted to pursue a career in fashion and music. But since that move, her behavior has only gotten more out of control, and many have expressed concern for her well-being.
Now, after a very public downward spiral, Bynes has been hospitalized involuntarily for a psychiatric evaluation after allegedly starting a fire in the driveway of an elderly woman near L.A.
“Deputies responded and held her on 5150 welfare and institutions code [involuntary psychiatric hold] and [Amanda] has been taken for mental evaluation,” said Capt. Don Aguilar.
Bynes has only been in L.A. a short time, but she’s already had police called on her at least one other time after she showed up to a retirement center and began acting strangely.
