Despite all the previous trailers focusing on nothing but insanity, Saint’s Row IV will have a story. It may not be the best story, but there will be a plot there to guide you through the game.
In the latest Saints Row IV dev diary, the team at Volition discusses the plot of Saints Row IV. They briefly discuss the opening which features the player character becoming president of the United States only to have the nation overthrown by an invading alien force. From there, the player will have to break out of the virtual reality simulation that the aliens have set up and rescue their “homies.”
The dev diary also peaks into the minds of two of the game’s voice actors – Terry Crews and Troy Baker. Everybody knows Terry Crews from his absurdly wonderful Old Spice ads, but Troy Baker only recently came to mainstream prominence as the voice of Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite and Joel in The Last of Us.
In other Saints Row IV news, Deep Sliver revealed the Super Dangerous Wad Wad Edition of the game. There will be only one made and it’s exclusive to the UK. It will cost $1 million, but it comes with a space flight, a Prius, a Lamborghini and all kinds of other goodies. It may be a “joke,” but I honestly hope somebody buys it.
Saints Row IV will launch on August 20 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
