It’s back-to-school time, and Pinterest wants to help teachers find new ideas for how to shape young minds.

They’ve just launched a new hub, called Teachers on Pinterest, that features over 1,000 pins contributed by teachers.

“We’re thrilled to announce an effort to support a community of creative, inspiring and hard-working people who make a difference to millions of kids everyday – teachers! We’ve teamed up with some brilliant elementary school teachers to launch Teachers on Pinterest, a hub where you’ll find everything from lesson plans for different grades, to classroom decorating ideas, and topics like fun with phonics,” says Pinterest.

They’ve partnered with Edutopia, the K-12 education strategy organization that’s part of the George Lucas Educational Foundation.

On the Teachers on Pinterest page, you can browse pinboards focused on preschool, kindergarten, and grades 1-6. You can also find ideas grouped by category – including subject matter (math, art, science) and other special education strategies (sensory training, home school).

According to Pinterest, there are over 500,000 education-related pins that go up every single day – so there’s clearly an interest for this kind of stuff on the network. What Pinterest has done is simply make it easier for teachers to find a lot of these pins by grouping them all in one place.
