Toni Braxton is not only touring again for the first time in years, she’s set to release a duets album with Babyface in December.
The songstress has seen quite a bit of drama in recent years after going through bankruptcy, losing property, and losing the rights to several of her songs. But now, she says her old friend Babyface has given her the strength to try her hand at touring again to prepare her fans for what’s in store.
“I think I was a little depressed, not being able to control my life the way I once had. Accepting that I’m older, the industry has changed. He said, ‘You got a lot more singing to do, sister girl. This is the where you’ve have to plant the seeds and start all over, and that can be challenging, but you’ve got to do it.’ I’m still nervous, I’m still a bit unsure. But I just decided, what do I need guts for? It’s OK to be scared, but guts are gonna help me through it. So wish me luck, guys,” she said.
The tour will end at the end of this month, but fans who don’t get the chance to see her live can look forward to the album, called “Love, Marriage, and Divorce”.
“The album celebrates the strong bond that has been in place between the two artists ever since Babyface and Toni’s duet on her smash 1992 debut, ‘Give U My Heart,’ which was co-written and co-produced by Babyface,” a press release said.
“Hurt” is the first single off the album and is already gaining radio play.
