Those who lean to the right politically will be happy to know that conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh just signed a new deal with Cumulus.

Limbaugh announced on his Friday show that he signed a three-year deal with Cumulus Media. He shared the good news with his audience, without a few people being aware he was going to make the announcement, “My broadcast partners do not know I’m gonna do this, but I’m gonna go ahead: We completed our negotiations with Cumulus Media, and there will not be any changes. I will continue to be on their radio stations for the next three years. It was really never in doubt, but I don’t want to do my own version of negotiating here. The only change that’s going to happen is that on January 1 we are going to leave WABC and move to WOR in New York.” WABC is where Limbaugh began nationally broadcasting his show in 1988. WOR is owned by Clear Channel, which also happens to be the parent company of Premiere Networks. Premiere Networks syndicates The Rush Limbaugh Show.

During his show the talk show host told his audience, “A month ago you couldn’t turn on the drive-by media without reading that I was finished.”

On CNN Friday morning, President Barack Obama blamed Limbaugh for gridlock. The humor of being irrelevant to relevant didn’t go unnoticed.

The conservative talk show host added, “You were reading that it was over for me. That I was bad news for broadcast stations. In this interview today, Obama blamed me. After a month of being irrelevant, after a month of being almost over, after a month of being a has-been…a month ago you couldn’t turn on the drive-by media without reading that I was finished.”

Limbaugh of course took time to thank his audience for their loyalty to his sponsors and explained why the show has lasted so long and gained popularity: “honesty and trust.”
