There’s truly nothing like having the blissful summer air to welcome beautiful outdoor activities. Baseball is America’s pastime, yes, but there’s absolutely nothing like the pairing of a warm summer night, the sound of music and applause with the most beautiful backdrop of a lit up outdoor concert stage.
But unfortunately, thoroughly enjoying those momentous occasions have become few and far between with the astronomical ticket prices. (And let’s not forget to mention the adult beverage prices at concerts, too.) Those steep prices have discouraged people to enjoy summer festivities and can no longer partake in the simple pleasures that summer music delivers.
However, it’s not just the fans that have noticed the unfortunately growing ticket prices. Fear not frugal music lovers, musicians have noticed and are no longer accepting it!
Detroit native and musician, Kid Rock is one of the artists that has decided to take a “pay cut” for concert ticket prices. He’s created a deal where ticket prices are $20 across the board at the amphitheater’s he’s been scheduled to perform at this summer. Rock’s teamed up with Livenation to lower ticket prices, parking prices and concession prices for fans. A list of his tour dates can be found here.
And it’s not just Rock you’ll catch out on tour. His band, Twisted Brown Trucker Band, ZZ Top, Uncle Kracker and Kool & the Gang will all be performing. The tour is currently going on and ends on Sept. 15 in Tampa.
Apparently, Rock sat down with Livenation CEO, Michael Rapino to discuss lower prices. Hopefully this action will cause other touring artists and bands to consider lowering their prices as well.
