SNL funnyman Seth Meyers tied the knot on Sunday with longtime lawyer girlfriend Alexi Ashe, and recently talked about the proposal, which was just announced last month.

“I tied [the ring] in a bow around our dog’s collar,” he said, describing how Alexi came home later than he thought she would. “I just had to sit there looking at the dog. I was like, ‘The dog’s going to eat the ring!’ ”

Meyers also said that while his fiancee did most of the wedding planning, it wasn’t because he just didn’t want to; rather, he had commitments he couldn’t get out of with his new Hulu animated series, “The Awesomes”.

“Nothing like telling your fiancee, ‘I’d love to do a cake tasting, but I have to go to Comic-Con,’” Meyers said.

The small wedding went off without a hitch, however, in an intimate ceremony at Martha’s Vineyard. Among the guests were Meyers’ “SNL” pals Lorne Michaels, Andy Samberg, Jason Sudeikis, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Amy Poehler, Taran Killam and Fred Armisen, as well as fellow actors Nick Kroll, Allison Williams, and Rashida Jones.

Meyers has had a full year; in April it was announced that he will take over at the “Late Night” desk for Jimmy Fallon, who will move on to take over for Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show”.
