Jennie Garth—probably still best known for her Beverly Hills, 90210 alum status—is capturing entertainment gossip headlines again over her new beau, Michael Shimbo. In a line right out of a teen drama, the couple is, “going steady,” a source says. Shimbo’s claim to fame is his position as CEO of the internet company that runs the PlanesTrains+Automobiles travel channel—in your internet searches, you’ll likely be redirected to fan pages of the similarly-named 1987 Steve Martin, John Candy buddy film.
Frequently posting photos on Twitter and Instagram of her time with Shimbo, Garth reportedly introduced him to Shannen Doherty, fellow 90210 grad, during a double date at Nobu (Shimbo on the far left). Reporters say the star couldn’t be happier. Not shy of publicity, Shimbo and Garth were seen at the Comedy Central roast of James Franco in late August. Garth Tweets a Shimbo quote over wine, “I love a good buttery Chardonnay,” pithy.

Garth and ex, Peter Facinelli, have three daughters from their 11-year marriage, which ended in early 2012; the divorce was finalized in June. They met in 1995 on the set of An Unfinished Affair. Since their split, the couple sold their home in the Los Angeles enclave of Toluca Lake to co-creator of The Big Bang Theory, Bill Prady.
Earlier forays into the dating pool for Garth included Jeremy Salken, drummer for the group Big Gigantic, healthcare exec Jason Clark, Design Star Antonio Ballatore and photographer Noah Abrams. Garth was also previously married to musician Daniel Clark, whom she divorced in 1996.
Dating since November 2012, Facinelli and girlfriend Jaimie Alexander have caught their share of press, too. They were seen in Cancun, Mexico, during a late August getaway with Garth and Facinelli’s daughters. Alexander costarred with Facinelli on Nurse Jackie.
The affectionate dating mom also posted pictures celebrating the end of summer with girls Luca (16), Lola (10) and Fiona (6) and the ladies were caught crafting in a US Weekly feature.
