Maybe science and dancing just don’t mix. Bill Nye “The Science Guy” has suffered the first injury during the 17th season of “Dancing with the Stars”.
Nye, the season’s fan favorite, reportedly for injured his knee and was taken to the hospital for an MRI. The injury may lead to Nye having to undergo surgery.
“We can confirm Bill Nye was injured during his performance last night and is currently seeking medical attention,” an ABC spokesperson said in a statement. “We will continue to keep you posted on his progress.”
Nye and his dancing partner, Tyne Stecklein, impressed the judges and he scored 17 out of 30 points during their performance of Ludwig van Beethoven’s, Fifth Symphony, on Monday night. His score is up from 14 points last week, one of the lowest scores thus far. Judge Bruno Tonioli told Nye during the critiques that he was impressed with his “genius and insanity” and that “there was actually some paso doble there. You nearly blew a gasket,”
After his performance last week, Nye said, “What it says to me that is we are the lowest judges scores by a fantastic factor, but what’s keeping us in it is the show, so we are going to keep bringing the show!”
