Miley Cyrus was the recipient of a lengthy letter from Irish singer Sinead O’Connor recently, and while it seems the content was meant to be helpful, it certainly got salty, due in part to O’Connor’s claims that Cyrus is being “prostituted”. The 20-year old “Wrecking Ball” singer fired back on Thursday with a simple tweet showing O’Connor’s infamous “Saturday Night Live” performance, in which she went on a rant about the “real enemy” and tore up a picture of the Pope on live television.

Later, Cyrus had a more lengthy reply:
Sinead. I don't have time to write you an open letter cause Im hosting & performing on SNL this week.

O’Connor wrote, in part, that she thinks Cyrus should be protecting herself from the people who would do nothing but exploit her and make money off of it. You can read the full letter here.
“I am happy to hear I am somewhat of a role model for you and I hope that because of that you will pay close attention to what I am telling you,” she wrote. “The music business doesn’t give a sh– about you, or any of us. They will prostitute you for all you are worth, and cleverly make you think its what YOU wanted.. and when you end up in rehab as a result of being prostituted, “they” will be sunning themselves on their yachts in Antigua, which they bought by selling your body and you will find yourself very alone.”
Catch Miley hosting SNL on Saturday to see if a Sinead bit is in the works.
