Michael Vick Injures Hamstring in Second Quarter

NFC East rivals the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles both came into Sunday’s early afternoon game desperately needing a win. The Giants were a 0 – 4 and the Eagles were 1 – 3. The game was close and the oft-injured quarterback Michael Vick was playing adequately with 79 rushing yards but only completing six passes for 105 yards. However, Vick suffered a hamstring injury in the second quarter while running out of bounds after a short run.

Vick was replaced by backup quarterback Nick Foles who was able to complete Vick’s drive with a 21 yard pass to wide receiver DeSean Jackson. The Birds capped that drive with a field goal to end the first half of play. Vick will not return to game action this afternoon.

Michael was able to make it through the first four games of the season relatively unscathed. However, due to Vick’s age and desire to still run the football, he is a constant injury-risk waiting to happen. The Twitter world reacts:
