Oliver Martinez and Halle Berry have welcomed a son in to the world and he was born on Saturday. The couple met in 2010 on the set of film Dark Tide and married in a private ceremony in France in July of this year. This is the second child for Berry, but her first with Martinez. She also has a daughter, Nahla, who is 5 years old.

Before his relationship with Berry, Martinez gained a reputation as a womanizer, dating several actresses and models including Mira Sorvino and Kylie Minogue. He is also an actor, but of course lesser known than his wife, Berry, the Oscar winner. In addition to Dark Tide, the film in which they appeared together, he has also appeared in a variety of films including Unfaithful, Taking Lives, and Blood and Chocolate. Before he got his start in these types of films though, the French actor acted in several French films and started his career with the film Navaro in 1990.

Martinez first revealed that the couple were expecting a boy in June, when telling People Magazine “My son will remain an American, but I will remain French.” People Magazine also mentioned recently that before the couple officially made their baby announcement, Berry made an appearance on the Wendy Williams Show in which she discussed Nahla’s desire to be a big sister.

Halle Berry kept busy with her career, despite the pregnancy, working on a new television drama with Steve Spielberg, which is called Extant, and will air on CBS. She plays an astronaut who returns home after a year-long solo mission in space. The series will premiere in the Summer of 2014. Martinez is currently working on a film called The Physician, which does not currently have a US release date set.

Due to her age, 47, Berry was shocked to hear the news of being pregnant. Back in April, she said “I thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it’s been a big surprise and the most wonderful.” She had her first child with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry in 2008. Her next film will be the next installment in the X-Men franchise, X-Men: Days Of Future Past.
