Scarlett Johansson has been dubbed “Sexiest Woman Alive” by Esquire Magazine for the second time in less than a decade, and she’s the first woman to hold the honor twice.
“I’m the only woman to win twice right? You know, I gotta hustle. I’m a 28-year-old woman in the movie business, right? Pretty soon the roles you’re offered all become mothers. Then they just sort of stop. I have to hedge against that with work-theater, producing; this thing with Esquire,” she said.
Johansson’s career has seen quite a few changes since 2006, when she first earned the title; the one-time indie darling starred on Broadway in “A View From The Bridge”, for which she later won a Tony, and went on to portray Janet Leigh in “Hitchcock” and superhero Black Widow in “The Avengers”. Her latest project, “Don Jon“, paired her with writer/actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt to tell the tale of a young man who is addicted to porn.
Johansson also got married, divorced, and engaged in those seven years–from Ryan Reynolds to Romain Dauriac–and says she thinks she’s changed a lot emotionally since her first time at the altar.
“I didn’t think I was a jealous person until I started dating my current, my one-and-only,” Johansson said. “I think maybe in the past I didn’t have the same kind of investment. Not that I liked my partner less, I just wasn’t capable of it or caring that much.”
Last year’s winner of the Esquire title was Mila Kunis.
