Madonna Banned From Theater For Texting

Madonna is, it’s probably safe to say, used to getting her way. So when a New York theater-goer asked her to stop texting in the middle of a film, she was none too happy about it and yelled at the woman. Now, she’s been banned from the establishment until she apologizes to the people she annoyed by the light of a Blackberry screen.

Madonna was part of a crowd watching Steve McQueen’s “12 Years A Slave” at a theater owned by the Alamo Drafthouse, which is notorious for throwing people out when they don’t abide by the “no cell phone” rule. When a woman seated behind her tapped her on the shoulder and asked her to stop texting, Madonna reportedly turned around and said, “It’s for business . . . Enslaver!” She’s said to have made a hasty departure from the theater afterward.

Alamo Drafthouse CEO Tim League says that now the Material Girl isn’t allowed back into one of his theaters until she makes an apology to the fans who were disrupted by her little show.

“Yeah, I’m serious, but I don’t think it really affects her life that much,” League said when asked if he would really enforce the ban.
