The “Blurred Lines” singer, Robin Thicke is trying something new. The musician is hopping behind the camera to shoot and direct the short film he wrote titled, “Mercy.”

The film is loaded with stars from Robert Partick (“Walk the Line, “Gangster Squad) to Amanda Stenberg (“The Hunger Games.”) Thicke’s wife, Paula Patton (“Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol,” “Precious”) will be starring in the film as well.

The film is based on true events following Tom (Thicke) a family man and limo driver and his wife, Cynthia (Patton.) The film also focuses on a woman who has a drug and alcohol addiciton. Patrick plays Randall Cross, a man full of regrets. Stenberg plays Tom and Cynthia’s daughter, a talented violinist and former student of Randall’s dying wife.

The film was shot earlier this year in Los Angeles. It was produced by Jump Films’ Mick Partridge while Thicke and Jordan Feldstein executive producing.

The musician is no stranger to the big screen. Thicke’s father is actor Alan Thicke. Thicke has also appeared in BET’s satirical comedy, “Real Husbands of Hollywood.” He’s also served as an advisor on the third season of hit NBC show, “The Voice.”

Thicke will perform at the Grammy nominations concert Dec. 6 and will be a headliner on the first Jingle Ball U.S. tour, which kicks off Dec. 2.
