While all of America and international markets suffered due to the government shutdown, we now know who suffered the most – House stenographer, Dianne Reidy.

In a bizarre act Wednesday night, Reidy approached the dais of the House with what most people believed to be a message. House Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., who was presiding over the House, said that Reidy approached her and asked if the microphones were on: “I said that I didn’t know. I assumed that perhaps I was chatting too much to the helpful parliamentarians around me.”

Representative Peter King, R-NY, stated, “The Sergeant in Arms didn’t try to stop her because she works there and that’s where she’s situated. And she actually went up behind the podium where the president speaks from. They thought she was going to hand something to the speaker, and then they realized.”

What the House realized, at that point, is that Reidy had finally lost it. Sixteen days of government shutdown had been enough for the stenographer. Perhaps she got tired of recording all the bologna coming from the representatives. Whatever the reason, Reidy had a message she was compelled to tell the House:

“Do not be deceived. God shall not be mocked. A House divided cannot stand…He will not be mocked, He will not be mocked, (don’t touch me) He will not be mocked. The greatest deception here, is that this is not one nation under God. It never was. Had it been… it would not have been… No. it would not have been… the Constitution would not have been written by Free Masons… and go against God. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God, Lord Jesus Christ.”

Shortly after Reidy gained access to the podium, she was escorted out of the House and taken to a local hospital for mental evaluation.

Dianne Reidy’s husband, Dan Reidy, believes that his wife has no mental problems, despite her outburst: “Two weeks, waking up in the middle of the night. She’s like, I can’t sleep, God’s got me in the work. God was preparing her for this vote last night, because this was kind of the culmination of everything. This was the big one. Everybody’s there. And Dianne didn’t know what she was sharing, she didn’t know when — but she just sensed in her spirit.”

Dan Reidy is a former associate pastor of a Christian church in Florida and a self-described Pentecostal Christian.

Dianne Reidy backs Dan’s story, almost word for word: “For the past 2 and 1/2 weeks, the Holy Spirit has been waking me up in the middle of the night and preparing me (through my reluctance and doubt) to deliver a message in the House Chamber. That is what I did last night”

When asked about her personal health, Reidy responded, “I’ve never felt better. I’m glad that I fulfilled God’s mission for me, absolutely. It lifted a tremendous burden. It was a very hard burden to carry as you can imagine.”

Personally, I can’t imagine carrying such a burden. Thus far, God has not called upon me to carry his message. But if he was going to call on anyone, a stenographer was probably the right occupation to choose. I mean, they do have to accurately record literally every word uttered in the House. Therefore, one could make a safe bet that the message was conveyed accurately and truthfully.
