It looks like Halloween has its very own Grinch. A woman in Fargo, North Dakota plans to give children she considers overweight letters telling them they don’t need sweets instead of candy when they knock on her door on Halloween.

“I just want to send a message to the parents of kids that are really overweight…I think it’s just really irresponsible of parents to send them out looking for free candy just ’cause all the other kids are doing it,” the woman, who wouldn’t give her name, said in an interview on Y94 radio station. Maybe she wanted to avoid being targeted on Mischief Night tonight?

If the North Dakota woman follows through on her plans to hand out letters to overweight kids, she better be prepared to pull an all-nighter watching her house because when most kids say, “Trick or treat!” they’re serious about that. Kids–especially the older trick-or-treaters–will TP a person’s house for a whole lot less than refusing to give them candy because they’re overweight.

It seems like it would be easier for the woman to simply say she’s out of candy after making the determination that a kid weighs too much to get candy, rather than go through all the trouble with the letters and shame a kid in front of his friends. Check out the woman’s Halloween letter below:

You child is, in my opinion, moderately obese and should not be consuming sugar and treats to the extent of some children this Halloween season. My hope is that you will step up as a parent and ration candy this Halloween and not allow your child to continue these unhealthy eating habits.

Quite a few Twitter users are outraged at this North Dakota woman who seems dead set on ruining Halloween for some kids just because they weigh too much (in her opinion). What do you think about the woman giving letters to overweight kids on Halloween? Respond below.
